The Social Welfare Department provides information about various elderly care services, rendering support to those families in need.
Community Support
- Elderly Centres
Through District Elderly Community Centres (DECCs) and Neighbourhood Elderly Centres (NECs), support services, including health education, carer support services, social and recreational activities, meal services, pre-retirement planning and promotion of gerontechnology, etc., are provided to elderly persons aged 60 or above living in the locality, carers and the community at large.
Besides, Support Teams for the Elderly are set up in DECCs to provide support, such as regular visits, doing simple housework, emotional support, etc., to elderlies in need, e.g. those living alone or lacking family support, suffering from poor health or having financial difficulties, etc

The Senior Citizen Card provides a generally recognised proof of age to elderly persons. Hong Kong residents aged 65 or above are eligible to apply for the Senior Citizen Card in order to access to concessions, discounts or priority services offered by Government departments, public transport, private and commercial establishments.
